1. Do I need to be in shape before starting CrossFit?

No. This is the biggest misconception.

You don't get in shape then start CrossFit — you start CrossFit to get in shape.

Every workout is scalable. That means we adjust the movements, weight, and intensity to match your current fitness level. Whether you haven't worked out in years or you're just getting started, you'll be coached through everything.

2. What happens in my first CrossFit class?

At a coaching-first gym like CrossFit Reckoning, you won't just get thrown into a workout. We start with a conversation. We learn:

  • Your goals
  • Your background
  • Any injuries or limitations

From there, we guide you through movements, teach proper technique, and ease you into training. No chaos. No guessing. Just coaching.

3. Is CrossFit safe for beginners?

Yes — when it's done correctly. The key is mechanics, consistency, then intensity.

We focus on:

  • Learning proper movement first
  • Building consistency over time
  • Only increasing intensity when you're ready

Injury usually happens when people skip steps. We don't do that here.

4. What if I can't do the workouts?

You can. Because you won't be doing the same version as everyone else. We modify everything:

  • Can't do pull-ups? → We scale them
  • Can't lift heavy yet? → We adjust the weight
  • New to movement? → We simplify it

Scaling isn't a step back — it's how you actually make progress.

5. How many days a week should I start?

Start with 2–3 days per week. That's enough to:

  • Build consistency
  • Recover properly
  • See real progress

More isn't better at the beginning — consistency is.
